VCZ Croatia: "There are other ways"



One month ago VCZ Croatia organized the workcamp “Deeds and Needs” in Sveti Filip i Jakov, Croatia. The workcamp was supported by the GAIA MicroGrants Pragramme within Innovation for sustainability in workcamps. The initiative “There are other ways” during the workcamp combined field trips and workshops for all the volunteers in order to introduce to them the traditional ecological production in the region. One of the goals of Volunteers Centre Zagreb is to follow the Climate for Peace Workcamp Guidelines better at the workcamps organized in Croatia. Oslo Becomes First Capital City in the World to Divest From Fossil Fuels



"We are very happy to announce that Oslo will take responsibility for the climate, both through our own policies and our investments. The time for climate action is now, and the new city government will address climate change both locally and globally. Activist stunts make good headlines, but no long-term difference

"Imagine the scene: the chairman of Shell UK, Erik Bonino, sitting alongside Lee-Anne Barraclough, Shell’s VP of communications, over a Pret a Manger takeaway at Shell’s offices in London. They look out the window at the giant mechanical polar bear that’s been parked there since the morning, “I think we need to back out of the Arctic – this reputational damage is destroying us,” they bemoan, over the echoes of Emma Thompson shouting through a loudspeaker in the background."
